Join Town Hall:

Student org's ****weekly meeting is Wednesday, June 3rd at 2:00 pm PST / 5:00 pm EST: Current student org members have voted to consolidate the Executive Board (E-Board) meeting and SSW Town Hall in one open meeting for summer 2020. You can find the log-in credentials on our Moodle page.

This is for anyone and everyone, please drop in! We'll be building community, reconnecting, offering peer-support, and talking about upcoming projects.

Run for student government:

Elections: A student org term is held annually from July-to-July which means we'll be transitioning over to some wonderful, new faces very shortly. You'll be hearing more from us on this, but here's a quick breakdown of the nomination and election process:

In week 3, you'll be getting an email to nominate yourself and/or your peers for any student org position (yes, you can nominate someone for more than one!). We'll ask those nominated to write a lil' blurb about themselves. In week 4, we'll send out a ballot with blurbs to all SSW students to vote on who they'd like to hold the position. In week 5, we'll announce the new elected student org leaders and begin to transition positions. Starting term 2, week 1 the new student org leaders officially start.

Student Activities/Events:

Jenn Wahr ([email protected]), one of our treasurers and just a general badass, is organizing weekly student org events so we can be with one another outside of a class setting.

Some ideas include: poetry slam, karaoke sing-along, jackbox.tv games, live music performances or jam-sessions, craft night, knitting circle, cooking together, recipe swap, self-care strategy swap, gardening together/plant discussion, dance party, body-weight workout class, the list goes on...

If you want to host one and/or have an activity idea, please email her directly. The calendar will fill up as events are created and we hope to reimburse volunteers $20 per event, pending a budget vote this week. PARTY!
